No story about safe cycling would be complete without discussing the hazard of falling, and the use of helmets. However, many modern helmets are shaped airodynamically, with an extension at the back, that touches the (ordinary) backseat's high backrest. This forces the head slightly forward, which doesn't feel good. Parents get discouraged to provide this safeguard. For elder kids, the seat's carrying handle is not up, but either turned back or foreward, just as you like it. The maximum weight on the bike is 15 kg. Most toddlers are three years old then.
